IMMUNE BOOSTING Black Elder + Rose Truffles

IMMUNE BOOSTING Black Elder + Rose Truffles

Nothing like combining immune boosting plant allies with the blissful notes of chocolate. Here we're incorporating our Black Elderberry Elixir into exquisite cacao, for a mood boosting effect, along with the delicate and heart opening notes of rose. Our super potent (and vegan!) Elderberry Elixir contains Skullcap for its anti-viral effects, the lung support of Cordyceps, the anti-inflammatory power of Reishi, flu-and-virus-fighting Maitake and Shiitake, and of course immune-boosting Elderberries.

We have a mouthwatering recipe below by our friend and dessert queen, Jade from @panaceas_pantry using our raw + organic cacao and Elderberry syrup. Enjoy and be well!

Prep time: 10 mins

Setting time; 3 hours

Makes: 14

Level: Easy

Ingredients:

180g best quality 70% dark chocolate

125g coconut cream (see notes)

1 Tbsp pure maple syrup or honey

2 Tbsp black elderberry syrup

2 tsp rose powder

Instructions:

  1. Begin by very finely chopping the chocolate. This step is very important and is the most important step to perfecting this recipe. You could grate the chocolate if preferred. The finer you chop the chocolate the better.
  1. Place the chocolate and elder in a small heat proof bowl (around 1- 1.5 litre capacity is perfect). Set aside.
  1. Add coconut cream and maple/honey to a small saucepan. Over a low heat bring almost to the boil- once you see a few large bubbles forming turn off the heat and immediately pour over the chocolate. Stand for exactly 2 minutes, then use a whisk to quickly combine. The chocolate will melt and a smooth , silky ganache will form. Add the rose powder and mix to combine.
  1. Place in the fridge for 2-3 hours, or until firm then roll into balls around 1 Tbsp in size. If you want the balls to be uniform measure out 20g each (it will make 14 balls of this size).

Our Vegan Elderberry Syrup contains potent antivirals that are lung + immune protective, such as Reishi, Cordyceps, Shiitake, Maitake and Skullcap Baikal! Doesn't contain honey like classic formulations. So think of this as a super-concentrate that can be added into any elixir, food or functional dessert of choice (like this one ;) Happy eating!
