THE VIRGIN, THE FISH & THE DRAGON:
Medical Insights for the Virgo-Pisces Eclipse Season
Medical astrologers get excited when the “Celestial Dragon” changes zodiac signs! This so-called dragon’s positive pole, the traditional “Dragon’s Head,” is identical with the astronomical North Lunar Node.
Conversely, the negative pole, or “Dragon’s Tail,” is precisely opposite that point, identical to the South Lunar Node. These constitute two ends of one polarity. Soli-Lunar energies enter our bodily field at the Head and exit at the Tail.
This January, the Dragon’s Tail “ingressed” into Virgo, the sign of the upper intestinal organs. Simultaneously, the Dragon’s Head entered Virgo’s opposite sign of Pisces, which governs the feet and lymphatic system. Eclipses always occur near these points.
On March 13, a spectacular total Lunar eclipse in Virgo occurs at the Dragon’s Tail! This event stands opposite the Dragon’s Head in Pisces, where Saturn and Neptune are conjoined. This is one remarkable event! Cosmic pranas may surge out of the Tail from Virgo’s traditional body zone, with potential physical influences. The “tail,” our great celestial excretion portal, is typically weakening, draining, and inefficient, simultaneously releasing and cleansing.
Virgo strongly influences the liver, duodenum, pancreas, spleen, gall bladder, upper intestines, immune resistance, and health services. We hypothesize an increasing public tendency toward issues of one or more of these organs. One week into the “Tail’s” Virgo ingress, an acquaintance suffered a paralyzed bowel (ileus) with blood clots in his liver. Virgo also “governs” diabetes because this sign strongly influences pancreatic function (with Cancer, Aries, and Libra).
Virgo’s opposite sign, Pisces, influences the lacteals—the tiny intestinal lymphatic vessels. These can become increasingly plugged or turbid as the Dragon’s Head moves through Pisces. During this time, the astrologically aware healer (licensed) might consider relieving the lacteals while remaining alert for digestive, immune, lymphatic, feet, or blood sugar challenges.
Virgo reflexes with its opposite sign Pisces, which governs the feet. Already, diabetic friends are complaining of enhanced foot issues. My book, Eclipses and You, delves more deeply into eclipse details. Pisces also governs sleep. The Dragon’s Head in this Pisces predisposes towards insomnia. For your convenience, I’ve posted the first eclipse calendar inclusive of Lunar Node Polarity here.
The Celestial Dragon emphasizes both signs this year. The majority will be fine. However, this celestial trend could hypothetically be of interest for those vulnerable to foot issues, lymphatic congestion, complaints of digestive organs, sleep, dream, psychic or immune disorders, or diabetes. Preemptive knowledge is the gift of astrological medicine! Chart in hand, one looks down the road and can remediatively turn the steering wheel. Humankind’s great ally is the herbal kingdom.
The effects of this eclipse can last over one year, being reliably potent within one quarter. In fact, an eclipse this strong can be felt two weeks prior! This is so useful to learn that we offer an entire course on Eclipses and Lunar Nodes at the Academy for Astrological Medicine.
With your physician’s consent, The Dragon’s Tail in Virgo hypothetically suggests a year to balance blood sugar, nourish the pancreas, rest and cleanse both liver and lymphatics, and gently assist digestion; whereas The Dragon’s Head in Pisces suggests sealing porous psychic boundaries, assisting lymphatic flow, and attending the feet! In this way, we harmoniously align with both poles of the Celestial Dragon. The cosmically astute physician finds positive uses for all celestial events!
