Are you emotionally fatigued?

Are you emotionally fatigued?

This week on mystical monday

How being emotionally fatigued kills your vibe.

When fatigue takes power over your mind, your energy abandons your body and it produces a feeling of weakness that’s hard to eliminate. Fatigue, the common denominator of our good ol’ nemesis, Stress. Chronic stress and anxiety are common gateways that enable the hormone cortisol to flourish in our body, striking quite an unbalanced emotionallandscape within ourselves. Depression is often linked to fatigue, as they both can trigger each other simultaneously.

Sometimes we may not realize it, but relationships and recurring patterning in our lives (that we fully choose for) are the principle causes of our fatigue. Everyday choices, that seem perhaps minuscule — if not chosen with your gut and that little voice inside of you that is unmistakably a YES —  lead to ongoing un-satisfaction, and eventually culminating into emotional fatigue. Some experience the culmination of this energy as anxiety, loss of control, depression or ongoing sadness. But usually, people who suffer from emotional fatigue aren’t aware of their symptoms. Why does this happen?

Highly empathetic and sensitive people are usually the ones who suffer from this kind of fatigue. It exhausts all of our emotional resources, leaving us with nothing to give other people. This often leads to living a “guarded life”, a tender heart that is not willing to be open because of A. being exhausted, B. not wanting to be taken advantage of (or being hurt), C. not getting drained any further.

It is crucial we take the time to examine what in our lives is contributing to this hole. Pay close attention to it, and weed it out. Choosing to leave these circumstances as they are within ourselves can be a form of self-sabotage, or self-attack -- restricting us from actually living a life of freedom.

Do quick check-ins, as many times as you need throughout the day:

1. As soon as you detect a loss of energy (no matter how small) is a giveaway. Write it down, it actually helps to create a little list where you remind yourself.

2. When you don't feel motivated to do something, honestly ask yourself why. Again, this can be in the smallest form, but as soon as you feel like it goes against your YES, then take it as a hint!

3. Low tolerance. If something stressful is coming up, see how your tolerance level shifts. Breathe, and analize exactly in that moment why its triggering the living heck out of you. Try to metabolize it in your mind, or run it though as compassionate as possible out-loud with the person that’s triggering it. Or simply out-load with yourself.

A little self reflection.

Take the time and ask yourself:

What are the fundamental activities and behaviors that express your deepest intentions?

What circumstances would provide you with the optimum conditions for satisfying your needs and fulfilling your expectations?

What do you want from other people and yourself?

What is about your work or job that is most satisfying, most frustration, most difficult, not easy?

What are your most trying dilemmas, conflicts and contradictions?

To overcome the feeling of being emotionally fatigued, we must first be aware of what is causing it. If you are highly sensitive or an empathic person and you’re wondering whether you suffer from emotional fatigue, pay attention, because a much more serious problem could be behind it.
Luckily, if it’s caused by regular stress, it can be solved by shifting certain aspects of your daily life and incorporating essential nutrition to help you.
