Ostara, more commonly known as the Spring Equinox, is an ancient pagan celebration of the return of the Sun; of renewal, emergence, and fertility. It's the equilibrium of dark and light, reminding us that balance is possible, if not always sustainable. Named after the Germanic goddess of the dawn, Ostara (or Eostre) ushers in waves of revitalization and rebirth after a long, cold winter, both energetically and actually.
Not coincidentally, the day also coincides with the beginning of Aries season: the first sign of the zodiac, ruled by fiery Mars, the god of war and an agricultural guardian. This energy feels like action, passion, and courage: a much-welcome spark of creation after swimming the watery depths of Pisces season. In other words, this is the fresh start so many of us have been craving, particularly in the wake of a powerful eclipse season and Mercury Retrograde (yikes).

This time is ripe with reminders from the Earth and spirit that nature is generous and fertile, and that, like a citrus tree bursting with fresh, plentiful, golden fruit, we are already abundant. That our bodies and minds are nature itself, subject to infinite shifts and changes, deaths and rebirths. And that it's officially time to begin again. To take the intentions you’ve been mulling over or pressing pause on since the beginning of the year and finally put them into motion, using Aries’ fire to get energy flowing in the right directions, mind, body, and soul.
One of the most beautiful ways to do this is hiding in plain sight: in the energies of the days of the week. What I’m about to share is one of the most powerful energetic practices in my healer’s bag of tricks, one that honors the distinct energy of each day so that you might trade the linear, masculine push of modern Western demands for something that moves more like nature does.
We were never meant to operate on an endless linear schedule. The five-day workweek, the unending to-do list, the pressure to be equally productive on a Monday as on a Friday—these were designed for output, not for humans. And we’re all feeling it. Burnout, exhaustion, and a total depletion of creative energy, resulting in a sense that something is deeply off. But what if the problem isn't motivation or willpower, or whether we're optimizing our schedules for maximum output? What if the problem isn't you? What if it's the system?
The ancients didn't separate productivity from nature. They planted by the Moon, made offerings to the appropriate gods and spirits, and moved with the rhythms of the cosmos rather than against them. Now, imagine what it would feel like, not to take a permanent vacation (I refuse to believe that’s what we really want), but to work with the grain of life instead of constantly pushing against it.
Using planetary energies to plan your week is an invitation back to that sacred intelligence. When you align your actions and intentions with the energy of each day, then reach for a plant ally to anchor it in the body, the etheric becomes embodied. The invisible becomes practice. You stop pushing against the current and start moving with it, which is, and always has been, the most powerful thing you can do.
Before we dive into the planetary days of the week, start here: with something warm, intentional, and made for exactly this moment in time. The new Ostara Spring Tea Blend is a celebration of the threshold you're standing on.
Lemon balm and chamomile, both sacred herbs of healing, purification, and new beginnings, weave a gentle calm through the nervous system. Red clover and rosehips offer heart-opening nourishment, abundance, and subtle vitality. Orange peel and jasmine, long used in magic for joy, attraction, and the manifestation of deep heart's wishes, lend the blend brightness and warmth. Delicate blue cornflower petals, a symbol of clarity and devotion, echo the first blooms of spring. Together, they hold the magic of renewal, love, and new beginnings: everything this season asks us to step into.
Brew a cup on any morning this week, and sit with it before the noise begins. Hold the warmth in your hands. Set your intentions for the season and the rest of the year, because this is the true energetic beginning. This Ostara, as the true energetic new year begins, try planning your week differently. You might be surprised by how your productivity and vitality bloom.
Intuition, rest, dreams, the inner world, the feminine
The Moon governs the waters: the tides, the body, the emotional undercurrents that move beneath the surface of everything we do. Monday is her day, and she asks for softness, not the frantic rush into a long week.
Lunar herbs are cooling and yin, designed to slow you down and draw you inward. Begin the day gently with a cup of Blue Lotus tea, and sit with it before the noise begins. Plan your week with intention and perform softer tasks. Rose soothes the nervous system while Tremella, the “beauty mushroom,” replenishes and nourishes from within. Wind down the day with a Golden Moon Milk and let Monday be a day of receiving and preparing for the week's hustle.
Try: a moon water ritual, dream journaling, a restorative tea ceremony, or slow, gentle movement. This is a great day for creative reflection, revisiting ideas, and tuning into your intuition rather than pushing for answers.
Courage, strength, action, fire, physical vitality
Mars is the god of war and action; an energy for building, moving, and becoming a force of nature. Tuesday carries that same heat, and it's the best day of the week to channel it for big meetings, launches, and more demanding tasks. Stoke that fire with warming herbs that fortify and ignite.
Cordyceps is the quintessential Mars ally, prized for endurance and sustained physical energy. Stack it with Chocolate or Vanilla Protein for a pre-movement ritual, or reach for Recovery Tea and Arnica Balm after you've pushed hard. Yarrow, long carried by warriors into the field, rounds out the Mars medicine cabinet with its fierce, protective energy.
Try: a strong movement practice, breathwork, cold water immersion, or tackling the thing you've been avoiding. This is the best day of the week to launch, lead, or do anything that requires nerve.
Communication, clarity, the mind, learning, connection
Mercury famously rules communication, the intellect, technology, and travel. He’s the messenger: quick, curious, and always in motion. Wednesday is the day to think, write, connect, and create, and to give your mind the nourishment it needs to do all of that well. Mercury herbs sharpen perception and support the nervous system.
Lion's Mane is one of the most well-researched mushrooms for cognitive function and neural health. Find it in The Mind Adaptogenic Brain Tonic for sharp, sustained focus throughout the day, then wind down with Make Magic Tea, a mystical blend of Rose, Blue Lotus, and spirit-enhancing florals that calms the nervous system and opens the intuition. Butterfly Pea flower, with its striking color-shifting blue hue, speaks to Mercury's endlessly curious nature and nourishes the throat chakra.
Try: journaling, learning something new, taking a long, mindful walk, or speaking your intentions aloud. This is a great day for meetings, presentations, and pitches.
Expansion, abundance, optimism, wisdom, generosity
Jupiter is the great benefic, the planet of growth, good fortune, and endless abundance. Thursday is a day to think bigger, give more freely, and trust that there is enough, always. Jupiter herbs are rich, nourishing, and growth-oriented. Reishi, called the mushroom of immortality for thousands of years, is the perfect Jupiter ally: deeply nourishing, expansive in its benefits, and steeped in ancient wisdom. Rich, nourishing Resilient Powder and the Adaptogens Tonic offer the kind of steady, sustained vitality that Jupiter energy calls for. Light the Prosperity Candle, sip Mushroom Mocha Milk, and let Thursday be the day you do big things.
Try: a gratitude practice, literal or metaphorical seed planting, or an act of generosity. This is the ideal day for big-picture thinking, business development, financial decisions, and saying yes to opportunities.
Beauty, love, pleasure, the senses, earth reverence
Venus rules the floral realm and governs what delights and nourishes the heart. This is not a day for grinding, but a day for beauty, pleasure, and tending to the things that make life worth living.
Venus herbs are floral, heart-opening, and deeply sensory. Rose is her greatest ally: a portal to the heart, a magnet for love, and one of the most spiritually potent plants on earth. Jasmine governs dreams and desire, and ylang-ylang dissolves the walls we build around ourselves. This is a day for anointing, for wearing flowers, for tending to your body as something sacred rather than something to optimize. Reach for Schisandra Rose, Night Blooming Jasmine Anointing Oil, or simply a handful of rose petals steeped in hot water.
Try: a flower bath, self-anointing, creative expression, or time in a garden. This is a wonderful day for collaboration, client relationships, creative work, and anything that benefits from warmth and charm.
Grounding, deep roots, structure, ancestral wisdom, ancient things
Saturn is the keeper of time, the lord of ancient trees and deep roots, the planet that governs everything slow, structural, and enduring. Saturday is not a day to rush or to catch up on what you missed during the week; it's a day to go deep.
Saturn herbs are old medicines, forest medicines, the kind that have been working quietly for thousands of years. Chaga, dark and ancient, growing slowly on birch trees in cold northern forests, is Saturn's mushroom through and through. The Ancient Forest Blend and Sacred Trees Kit bring the forest indoors for meditation or ancestral work. Turkey Tail and Harmonize Tonic support the body's deeper systems, the ones that, like Saturn himself, work slowly and intentionally in the background to support your system during chaotic times.
Try: a tree meditation, forest bathing, or a long, slow, intentional rest. This is a good day for planning, organizing, doing the structural work that supports everything else, and setting yourself up for the week ahead.
Vitality, identity, radiance, life force, illumination
The Sun is the center of everything. It governs identity, life force, and the kind of radiance that comes from genuine alignment and authentic expression. Sunday is the day to charge yourself the way the earth charges under an open sky.
Solar herbs are bright, warming, and enlivening. Calendula and St. John's Wort are the Sun’s most iconic botanical expressions: golden, uplifting, and deeply nourishing to the nervous system and spirit alike. Golden Sun Milk was made for exactly this day, featuring activating botanicals like Maca and Cordyceps to support energy and stamina. Soma Elixir carries a luminous quality that mirrors solar energy, supporting vitality and clarity for the week ahead. Close the day with Lavender and set your intentions for the week to come.
Try: greeting the sunrise, moving your body outdoors, or sitting quietly with your intentions. This is a powerful day for vision work, personal reset, and deciding who you want to be this week.
Magic is a practice, a devotion. You can read every book, buy every course, and even hire powerful teachers to relay their wisdom. But unless you're consciously, intentionally flowing with the energy of magic in your life, you're simply intellectualizing the divine. This is the alternative to burnout that nobody is talking about. You don't need a full ritual or a ton of time: even a conscious cup of warm tea or the lighting of a single candle is an act of alignment. One day and plant ally at a time, you start moving with life instead of against it. Ostara is the perfect time to begin anew. Like the forest floor stirring again, will you accept her invitation to awaken what’s been lying dormant within you?
