The Scales and the Scorpion
October 2025 is here, heralding in an exquisitely potent planetary presence in Scorpio, the sign of self-purification and waste excretion - relative to both our physical and psychological levels! This influence increases from October 6th, and yet again from Sol’s ingress into this “spooky” sign on October 22nd, just before Halloween. Until then, the Sun traverses Libra. The zodiacal scales precede the celestial Scorpion in the same manner that Libra governs the body parts and physical functions immediately preceding the traditional organs and functions of Scorpio. Let’s explain this more fully.
Traditionally, Libra “rules” the ovaries, kidneys, and lumbar spine. Libra also governs the kidney’s balancing mechanisms for salt, potassium, blood pressure, sex hormones, and urine filtration. Do you see how fitting the symbol for these balancing functions is a scale? Scorpio follows Libra - governing the bladder, colon, genitals, gut microbiome, and the entire excretory impulses of the body, including the sweat glands, and strangely, the nose. Both signs are co-involved in the production and expulsion of urine. How? Libra influences the balancing of urinary constituents, whereas Scorpio governs urinary expulsion. Both signs govern the ureters and ovaries.

Saturn in Pisces & Mars in Scorpio
Meanwhile, Saturn in Pisces continues to potentially slow the lymphatic system, a carryover from last month’s Cosmic Currents. Saturn’s contribution to lymphatic stasis regretfully occurs precisely as physical waste removal systems are excited by the continuing presence of Mars in Scorpio! These conflicting influences plausibly encourage acne and other issues associated with “dirty blood,” lymphatic swellings, boils, UTIs, nasal infections, biome imbalances, excessive hormones in the bloodstream, colitis, candida, and autotoxicity. Luckily, the herbal kingdom holds solutions for such celestially inspired predicaments.
Scorpio’s season constitutes the astrologically ordained time to cleanse and purify body and mind, or conversely, to achieve a yearly pinnacle of waste accumulation. Although the Sun remains in Libra for the first three weeks of October, this month’s Mars in Scorpio, plus Mercury here too, could excessively stimulate diuresis and other excretion processes, increase sex hormones, and enhance the transformative powers of the Vital Force. Scorpio’s deep transformative powers are legendary. Those who know Scorpio natives can relate!
This month, plus most of November, we witness a grand “season of cleansing”. Healthy excretion of waste leaves us refreshed for another happy year. Scorpio is the 8th sign - notice how the number 8 creates an upright eternity symbol? Indeed, Scorpio is the proverbial sign of “death, transformation, and rebirth”. Those who desire long, healthy lives pay attention to the mandates of this 8th sign. These wise healers comprehend the “phoenix’s secret”: we cleanse, purify, and renew ourselves during the celestially appointed Scorpio season.
