On November 5, the dialectic of desire between Taurus and Scorpio ignites our atmosphere with the Taurus Full Moon. This lunation could bring all sorts of temptations and possibilities of adventure our way, with a strong bias towards doing something unexpected.
Mars opposite Uranus (exact November 4) could push us over the edge into riskier territory than usual, which may be just what we need to break with stale patterns of thought and behavior. On the other hand, a serious consideration of where our actions may lead us is also warranted as Mercury prepares to station retrograde on November 9, signifying a second look at our actions or the unearthing of previously unknown information.
Mercury’s final retrograde period of 2025 spans the fiery impulsivity of Sagittarius and the more calculating waters of Scorpio from mid-October to mid-December. It involves an argumentative conjunction with Mars as well as a load of surprises coming from a long opposition to Uranus. Mercury’s retrograde can sometimes throw us off balance, but this one has an exceptionally supportive relationship with Jupiter and Saturn-Neptune, potentially lending some grace and poise. This influence is particularly constructive for building continuity and connection between distant pasts and unknown futures, whether in creative works or in creating our lives.
The Moon is literally looming large this month as she is at perigee, or the closest she comes to Earth. She will be about 30 percent brighter than usual and about 15 percent larger — so bright that she may seem to be at maximum fullness for several consecutive nights.
On a symbolic level, the Moon represents the fundamentally relational ground of being, and this fact of our existence will be echoed in Venus’ motions this month. Both desire and dread can be dredged up by Venus’ transit of Scorpio (November 6 - November 30), and many of us will be getting real about what allures us. Should we allow the thing we love, the thing we so long for, to touch our hearts and transform us?

Mars in Sagittarius
Mars Opposite Uranus
The mood for exploration is heightened by pioneering Mars’ fresh move into the wander-loving sign of Sagittarius on November 4 until December 14. Mars in Sagittarius radiates adventure, whether that is exploring new sexual territory or blazing a trail into new intellectual terrain. Mars’ transit of Sagittarius starts with a bang as his primal fire opposes the radical impulsivity of Uranus (exact November 4), suggesting a sudden change in direction or, perhaps, reaching the limits of our patience with a tiresome situation. If we’ve only been contemplating making a big move, this influence could push us over the edge to action.
Much of November provides supportive direction for aligning our activities with our ethics and values, as we may notice that some of our relationships have shifted or that it’s time to make improvements. Mars’ gallop through Sagittarius can also provide a renewed sense of our mission in life and what we think is worth fighting for.
Mercury Retrograde
Mercury Conjunct Mars
Mercury-Jupiter-Saturn-Neptune Grand Trine
Mercury Opposite Uranus
Fighting may have just been compulsively following us around, though, as Mercury’s speech has tangled with Mars’ tendency to rancor since mid-October, and they aren’t done tangling until around November 15. Mercury will station retrograde on November 9, prolonging the conjunction with Mars (exact October 19 and November 12). The interaction between these two quick-tempered planets has been somewhat mitigated by a supportive grand trine among them, Saturn-Neptune, and Jupiter. This implies an ability to connect with much larger stories and arcs of time, providing a stabilizing influence for what can otherwise be a rash mode of interacting with others or making decisions.
Although this particular Mercury retrograde period will not be without its usual hiccups in communications, misunderstandings, technological snafus, and perhaps especially nasty speech, it also presents some other possibilities. Focus, concentration, better judgment, or balance in decision-making and enacting plans are suggested by Mercury’s long grand trine with Saturn-Neptune and Jupiter, which will make exact aspects October 23 - 29, November 19 - 23, and December 5 - 11. In October, we might receive insight into what we need to revisit; in November, gather information, ideas, and the right people; and by December, we’re in full construction mode. This influence is beneficial for reviewing or reviving old creative works, not only for editing but also for making substantial additions.
Mercury’s retrograde could give us access to information or connections that weren’t available before, making for much better revisions or a freshening up of plans. This may, of course, present some delays and agitation, especially if we’re receiving the bursts of insight and innovation suggested by Mercury, also opposing revolutionary Uranus (exact October 29, November 19, December 10).
One way to draw forth the best this retrograde period has to offer is to hold an imaginal council with both the beings of the future (Jupiter and Uranus) and the beings of the past or ancestors (Saturn). Especially if we’re in the midst of a great work or are conflicted about a significant decision, we can tap into a sense of being a part of a living wisdom stream of Earth.
We might imagine a conversation with future beings who are affected by our action or inaction today, and then turn to ancestors of the past, whether by lineage, blood, profession, or geography. We could describe our predicament or our dream and ask for input, perspective, wisdom, or insight. We are doorways for currents of life flowing through this blue-green jewel, unfurling through space, and such a practice —or something similar —could bring us more firmly into our present moment and our present power.

Venus in Scorpio
Venus Square Jupiter & Pluto
The power of relationships is also expressed in Venus’ disposition, where her grace, charm, and social skills will be put to the test. Her October journey through her home sign of Libra was a welcome counterweight to other rougher tendencies, and her voluptuous square to noble Jupiter (exact November 2) could bring some good luck to us. Venus quickly moves on to the vulnerable depths of Scorpio (November 6 - November 30) and perfects her tense square to Pluto (exact November 7), who is not messing about. Together, they turn up the volume on desire and its consequence. “Desire and its object become indistinguishable,” says the psychologist James Hillman of a heart engorged by passion. “What I burn with attaches me to it; I am anointed by the fat of my own desires, captive to my own enthusiasm, and thus in exile from my heart at the very moment I seem most to own it.”
Jupiter Retrograde
Jupiter Opposite Pluto
The heart may make us feel most ourselves, and yet it is also an instrument of self-undoing. It beats out the primal rhythm of relatedness, how our lives and our bodies are composed of innumerable interactions with others. As intimate as this dance may be, there is a certain anonymity in the love that draws collectives together, too. The human perspective on collectives is partly described by Jupiter, who is approaching his own turning point, stationing retrograde on November 11 in Cancer’s sign of hearth and home.
Jupiter’s opposition to the rebirthing force of Pluto (September 2025 - September 2026) may not come to exact until July 2026. Still, the transformation of philosophy indicated by this world transit will be percolating within us. Jupiter’s intelligence creates larger wholes, infusing the wisdom of inclusion, while Pluto is pressing on us to go deeper and evolve with circumstances. This can equally manifest as a desire for power, such as plutocracy, or as a desire to regenerate religion or philosophy and to set forth a bold vision for the common good. Jupiter is retracing its steps, though, indicating a gaze cast backward until March 2026 to consider what may be worth preserving.
Uranus Retrograde Into Taurus
Similarly, we will take one more peek into what Uranus has asked us to upgrade since it entered Taurus in 2018. Uranus’ final dip back into Taurus is from November 7, 2025, to April 25, 2026, where we might discover what we are still clinging to or desperately trying to hold together despite fraying ends. We will probably be asked to shed excess baggage during this brief final window of Uranus in Taurus, so that we are ready to travel quickly with Uranus on its new voyage through the nimble, communicative sign of Gemini. Not much in the world will be recognizable by the time Uranus fully completes its transit of Gemini in 2033, and gathering ourselves around what is of actual enduring value can create a map that we can trust.
Full Moon in Taurus: Sky Perspectives
Instincts awaken with this lunation, as a sensual and dynamic Taurus Full Moon emerges under an opposition to the sultry, seductive Scorpio Sun at 5:19 am US/Pacific on November 5.
There is an acute tension between asking for what we need politely and abruptly demanding that our needs be met immediately as we try to sort through conflicting impulses. Do we let ourselves be taken over by the thrill of an intense experience? Or do we let some caution guide our approach? It’s easy for our emotions to be hijacked by a mind racing like a runaway train, so it’s a good idea to keep the need for consent in sight.
Whether pursuing romance or any kind of desire, be sure everyone — including all the different parts inside of us — is entirely on board. Listening to our inner objections can yield better choices and might also provide real insight into the various modes of action available to us now. We can’t get beyond outgrown coping strategies and sticky behavioral patterns if we don’t actually interrogate them, seeing through the old mythology we once believed.
Whereas some of us may find ourselves enticed by an adventure, a fling, or something slightly taboo, others may finally confront someone about a perceived or real transgression, or confess a secret attraction to another. Careful consideration of possible outcomes for a risky venture can helpfully slow the roll if it’s not clear where our actions or liaisons are actually going to lead. The mind of Mercury will station retrograde a few days after this Full Moon, suggesting a rethinking of what we’ve said or done, or perhaps receiving some new and consequential information.
