Summer Solstice Ceremony with Rachael

Join us during the Summer Solstice for a workshop & ceremony on Sunday, June 21 from 3:30-5pm in our Venice apothecary.

The Summer Solstice marks the longest and brightest day of the year-a moment to pause, reflect, and honor the rhythms of the Earth before the days gradually begin to shorten.

During this gathering, we will create a communal altar using natural objects to honor the elements of earth, water, fire, and air. Through grounding practices, herbal tea, and guided journaling, participants will have an opportunity to connect with the season, reflect on their intentions, and celebrate the abundance of summer.

We will also discuss traditional solar herbs and their historical uses during solstice celebrations. Each participant will create a seasonal herbal craft, including a summer burn bundle and either a St. John’s wort infused oil (if fresh plant material is available) or a custom Summer Solstice tea blend.

Participants will leave with a handcrafted herbal preparation to take home-a tangible reminder of the intentions, energy, and beauty of this sacred seasonal transition.

This ceremony is open to anyone curious about herbalism, seasonal living, and nature-based practices, as well as those who already carry their own wisdom and experience to share with the community. 

About Rachael

Rachael is a community herbalist based in New York City. She has completed two years of apprenticeship with herbalist Robin Rose Bennett, a summer internship with Herb Pharm in Oregon, and over 1,000 hours of apprenticeship training with Flower Power NYC. She is currently continuing her studies under Antonia Perez of Herban Cura.

Rachael is passionate about both the physical and spiritual dimensions of herbal medicine. She believes that by slowing down, living in greater alignment with nature, and honoring the cycles of the Earth, we can cultivate a deeper sense of vitality, connection, and well-being. Her teaching style blends practical herbal knowledge with seasonal ritual, creating accessible experiences for both beginners and experienced practitioners alike.
