Join us at the Brooklyn Apothecary on Wednesday January 15th at 7pm for an evening of Mythos & Astrology.

Mythos Astrology is a fun discussion led class where we explore the mythology of the ancients and discover our own modern application of their stories. In this class, we will be exploring the Mythos of the Goddess Amaterasu. There are many retellings of her infamous story and we shall consider all tellings to get the full spectrum of her archetypal figure. Together we will unveil the symbology of the resplendent child of the heavens through her infamous cave myth and the story of her birth. We will also be exploring through the ethnographical lens of the Saiô or Itsuki no miko of the Heian period (794 to 1185 CE). Through the lens of the Saiô, we can explore how Japanese priestesshood and royalty were once interconnected through “proto” Amaterasu and Amaterasu as we know her now. Lastly, we will explore the importance of having someone like Ame no Uzume in one’s life during the darkest hours.

Tying all this together to better understand Asteroid Amaterasu (10385) in our Natal charts and as a planetary transit. By also considering other Asteroid deities who have played a role in the mythos of Amaterasu, we can get an even more embodied telling of the myth. Join me for class and dive deep into the imperial Goddess Amaterasu. I look forward to sharing all the epiphanies and hearing about everyone’s experience with the flowering goddess of the underworld.
