Julie W. (5/5)

Worth a try!

"Definitely works, was hoping it would be stronger however. I have been suffering from insomnia and was hoping it would be as strong as prescription meds but it's not quite there. However, I want to continue to try it because the next morning I had no grogginess at all."

Monique S. (5/5)

Genuinely Enjoyed It

"Many oneirogens I’ve tried have overwhelmingly bitter and unpalatable, but this one smells like incense resins and vanilla and is mildly bitter. A tablespoon steeped for 5 minutes in a paper teabag has helped me fall asleep faster and I’ve had a handful of notable vivid dreams while taking it. This is a powdered herb, so only a very fine filter (recommend paper of some kind) will keep most of the fines from the cup. Try in combination with chamomile."

Elena B. (5/5)

Potent upon arrival

"This stuff really knocks you out for the full count"

Mulungu

"This really truly is the best sleep support! I use a full tablespoon and it makes such a difference!"

Kelly V. (5/5)

It works

"I have been taking this nightly and have finished three packets of this stuff - that should tell you something. However, before placing my next order, I decided to do a controlled experiment and go without it for a week, keeping everything else the same, to make sure that it was doing what I thought it was doing. Sure enough, without my usual cup of mulungu tea post dinner, my sleep was worse. Once I resumed it, I had improved sleep latency and less interrupted sleep - all objectively measured by my Oura ring. The only reason I don’t give it 5 stars is because it doesn’t do the trick by itself but as part of my sleep stack, but then nothing would for a night owl like me."

Ruchika M. (4/5)

Helpful

"Good product, helpful for sleeping."

Bin Z. (5/5)

No results

"Used for over a week and up to max dose and then a little more. No sleep help at all or relaxation . Tried the money back guarantee and found out you only get a partial reimbursement , pay for restocking and to ship return back . By the time you’re done there is no refund left . Also tried another brand , MONOIA and worked the first night using"

Q&A

Is Mulungu safe to use while pregnant?
Hi Sam, We do not recommend the use of Mulungu while pregnant or breastfeeding. Instead, you could try our Calm Tea for a relaxing pre-bedtime drink.
Can I put this powder in capsules and consume that way instead of a tea?
Hi there, You could theoretically encapsulate the Mulungu powder, but the most potent way to take it is by simmering it, as suggested.
Do you drink the powder with the tea after it steeps for 10-15 minutes? Or do you leave the powder in the tea bag and toss it, then just drink the tea. I can’t tell if I should strain it and just drink the tea, or mix it in and drink it all?
Hi Matt! For the Mulungu, we suggest infusing 1tsp in 1 cup hot water for 10-15 minutes, straining, and enjoying it on its own, or with honey and/or other aromatic herbs. For a stronger serving, you can try 1tbsp in 1 cup hot water. Hope this helps, and enjoy!
I am having some liver issues, and I read that this herb will help with that. What is the recommended dosage for those seeking to cleanse the liver?
Hi Thomas, First and foremost, we always recommend working with a certified herbalist/naturopath to discuss specific needs. While Mulungu can be beneficial for the liver, it can also be used as a sedative, so we often recommend taking it before bed. See our "Suggested Use" directions on the Mulungu page. You can learn more about liver cleansing here: https://animamundiherbals.com/blogs/blog/how-to-cleanse-flush-the-liver-according-to-an-endocrinologist
It’s a powder but directions say to strain, so it doesn’t dissolve in hot water?
Hi Jennifer, In order to maintain the molecular structure of the herb, the powder will not fully dissolve. Reusable teabags/nut bags are great to strain the powder.
How many servings appx per 2oz pack?
Hi Stacey, There are 20 1tsp servings per 2oz bag of Mulungu.
what is the best way to get the most from this Mulungu powder? Example what do I mix it with and how much (tsp etc)
Hi Kim, 1tsp per cup. If you really need a knock out, try 1Tbsp per cup and plan for about 8-10 hours of sleep. Decoction: For a stronger serving, simmer in 2 cups water for 20 minutes. It will reduce to about 1 cup, then strain, and enjoy with honey and/or with other aromatic herbs, like lemon balm, tulsi, rose petals, etc. For a milder serving, infuse in 1 cup hot water for 10-15 minutes, strain and enjoy on its own, or with honey and/or other aromatic herbs.
