Bobinsana, Calliandra angustufolia, is a native of the Amazon Basin and has been used for countless generations to heal the body and for enhancing spiritual and shamanic activities. Traditionally bobinsana is use in tincture form, made using alcohol made from cane sugar called aguardiente or used in a strong tea (decoction). The entire plant are used for healing, the roots, bark, leaves and flowers.

Bobinsana can be a powerful tonic for strength and energy as it may boost the immune system*. Bobinsana has been traditionally used to support those with arthritis, rheumatism, musculoskeletal pains, edema/oedema and uterine disorders*. Research done in Sweden has shown that the plant contains COX-inhibitors, which is a remedy for arthritis. [R]
