Lemon Balm (Melissa officinalis), a member of the mint family, is considered a calming herb. It was used as far back as the Middle Ages to reduce stress and anxiety, promote sleep, improve appetite, and ease pain and discomfort from indigestion. Studies show that lemon balm may be helpful in reducing anxiety symptoms by elevating mood and reducing levels of stress hormones. Additionally, lemon balm has been shown to improve cognitive function and reduce feelings of stress and tension.
An herb rich in history, used as a medicinal stable by every ancient civilization ever known. Chamomile is a nervine, known to soothe the nervous system, assist with anxiety, stressed muscles, and can help with a restful sleep. Chamomile is also used to soothe skin irritations, breakouts and for nerve damage.
