Solstice Candle Workshop with Violet

Join us for an alchemical gathering on Saturday, December 13th from 1-2:30 PM at our Venice Apothecary.

The Winter Solstice, known in many Pagan traditions as Yule, marks the darkest night of the year and the sacred turning point when the light is reborn. For a few still, potent days, the Sun seems to pause in the sky, inviting us into reflection before its slow return. This is a threshold moment: a time to release what has surfaced through the dark half of the year, integrate the lessons of our inward journey, and prepare to step gradually, intentionally, back into the growing light.

In this hands-on candle dipping workshop, we’ll explore the history and symbolism of Yule; Its themes of release, renewal, and the quiet rebirth of the Sun, before crafting your own hand-dipped beeswax taper candles using traditional methods. Each dip into the warm wax becomes a small ritual of letting go, layer by layer, and each pass into the flame honors the return of light. You’ll learn to infuse your candles with herbs, intention, and meditative presence, creating a personal talisman to carry you through winter’s quiet magic.

Together we’ll craft, sip tea, and celebrate the long night—honoring both the shadows we’re ready to shed and the light we’re ready to welcome.
