Uranus Unleashed!
Uranus reentered Gemini on April 25th for a seven-year stay. I’ve always pondered why it was that Uranus’s rulership was not assigned to Gemini (instead of Aquarius). After all, Uranus was first discovered in Gemini – the sign that also hosts Uranus’s North Node, thus being a prime celestial entry portal for “his” imaginative, chaotic, and electrical influences! Additionally, the noted characteristics of Uranus and Gemini have much in common.
We witness the revolutionary “Uranian” flavor of Gemini in several wildly eccentric, experimental, and trend-setting singers born in this sign (e.g., Cyndi Lauper, Laurie Anderson, Prince, Bob Dylan).
Gemini, Communication & The Nervous System
Gemini governs communication. Astrologers correlate Uranus’s Gemini ingress to the massive escalation of AI in our affairs – but what about physical influences? Regarding health, Uranus is an observed electrical stimulant, noted for surprising and weird effects on the nervous system and mind. Gemini governs the peripheral and sensory nerves along which electrical signals travel to the brain. Uranus is now liberated from the grounding earth sign Taurus and free to run riot in a sign akin to “his” own nervous nature!
We hypothesize this transit as speeding up our mental currents, occasionally manifesting as heightened systemic tension, sudden mental exhaustion, temporary restlessness, and all manner of neural hyperactivity or everyday cognitive distraction. Respiratory & Airway Concerns
Additionally, the ‘air sign’ Gemini governs the bronchial tubes, upper lungs plus the inspiration of the breath. Uranus’s action is energetic and fast-moving, which traditional astrology often associates with the breath. Prioritizing deep breathing, clear airways, and lung vitality are of heightened importance throughout these Uranus-in-Gemini years.

Additionally, Uranus’s Gemini adventure heralds the possibility of significant scientific discovery and advancement in how we understand the mysteries of the brain and nervous system!
Restoring Neural Calm in an Electrified Age
As the ethers increasingly swirl with fast signals and vibrations, restorative neural calm becomes both rare and necessary. The average, healthy person may benefit from enforced computer-free time in nature, harmonizing music and scents, plus greater protection from the proliferation of EMF exposure in our lives (now constant). Even healthy nervous systems can only take so much. Luckily, the herb kingdom stands by with willing hands (leaves?)!
The brain emphasis brought by Saturn’s rays in Aries continues (see April’s Cosmic Currents). Now with Uranus in Gemini, it becomes yet more imperative to consider both resting and feeding our too-active brains!
