New Moon Eclipse Sound Ceremony with Taylor Ann Trad — August 11th

Be with us on Tuesday, August 11th from 7:00pm to 8:30pm for a 90-minute ceremony of tea, breath, sound, and stillness in Venice.

Tomorrow, the sky goes dark. A total solar eclipse in Leo arrives on August 12th, and this ceremony is the night before — the held breath, the quiet hour before the turn.

A New Moon is always a beginning. But an eclipse is a beginning you can feel: for a few minutes, the light we navigate by disappears, and cultures across history have treated that darkness as a threshold — a moment to pause, reflect, and choose what comes next with care.

Leo is the sign of the heart — of what we love, what we create, what we'd do even if no one were watching. This eclipse lands near the South Node, a gentle reminder that new chapters often begin with a quiet ending: an older version of ourselves, thanked and set down. And the same night, Mars moves into Cancer, turning our attention homeward — toward what actually feels nourishing, not just impressive.

Most of us live in a state of constant response. The phone before our feet touch the floor. The inbox that refills as quickly as we empty it. Days that move so fast we answer everyone — except ourselves. It isn't that we don't want to listen. It's that nothing in an ordinary day slows down enough to let us.

And still, beneath all of it, the heart keeps speaking. Quietly. Patiently. Waiting for a moment still enough to be heard in.

Tonight is that moment.

The ceremony unfolds as one continuous journey inward. It begins with the pause: a warm cup of herbal tea, phones away, the day set down at the door. Breathwork deepens it — space to soften, unwind from the pace of the day, and settle into the present moment. In that stillness, a guided visualization leads into the eclipse's darkness — a place quiet enough to hear what the heart has been saying all along. Journaling becomes an act of trust: giving words to what you heard while it's still warm. And a full immersive sound meditation carries it past thinking, into rest — so that what began as a whisper can leave with you as a beginning.

The group will sit with the question: What is my heart asking of me now?

This is the first of two August ceremonies. Tonight we listen for what the heart is asking. On August 27th, under the Pisces full moon, we clear the space to answer it.

The noise will still be there tomorrow. The quiet is tonight. Come sit in the dark and listen.
