REMEDIES AND RESOURCES to Support Black Lives

REMEDIES AND RESOURCES to Support Black Lives

Written in collaboration with Urban Wellness Mag

As June's Strawberry Full Moon, this weekend, welcomes in the fiery energy of Sagittarius, it is best to take pause, be mindful, and hone focus.

The Algonquin, a U.S. indigenous tribe, named the moon so as it indicates harvesting season for the wild strawberry, a fruit ripe with potential to control diabetes, prevent cancer, and regulate blood pressure.

Among Europeans, it became known as the Rose Moon -- a flower whose medicine soothes our throat, heals our scars, and uplifts our mood.

The protests we're experiencing -- worldwide --
won't quiet until we heal together.

Indigenous people are breaking globally, particularly Black Indigenous people and the Black people ripped from their home and tribe and understanding of life, in order to build the 1st world comforts that we indulge in so carelessly in the U.S.

We are connected more than ever due to the Internet, and smart phones, and cheap travel. However, we are exhausted by the exposure. Even the most altruistic of adventurers can't seem to grasp that we move at a pace more in-tuned with nature, and less in-tuned with the frequencies of their 40-hour, underpaid work week. And we are exhausted from the continued cultivation of land, food, and culture that is only destroyed by pipelines or preservative-laced recipes.

"IT IS SOCIAL JUSTICE,
CLIMATE ACTION +
FEMINISM"

We are exhausted from being "essential" workers during a pandemic, but somehow still worthless at the hands of those who protect and serve.

We are dying at disproportionate rates, rapidly, shockingly, too young; and we are broken by the image of a man uniformed in hundreds of years of colonial abuse, who only took pause to kneel on another man's neck -- for 8 minutes and 46 seconds.

Proclaiming that, "Black lives matter" isn't just a trendy social conversation starter. It is social justice, climate action, and feminism -- 100 years, precisely, after the U.S. acknowledged that women have the right to vote.

Yes, we have been slow to enact change, and this hastens the potential for our demise.

To usher in balance, during this fiery full moon and lunar eclipse, we've partnered with Urban Wellness Mag to curate a collection of herbal and media resources, so that we may stay focused and not get lost in the emotional upheaval. We have to sit with these emotions, listen to them, learn from them and evolve our individual humanity, for the sake of the whole.

We have the power to change.

a token of love

COMMUNI-TEA
STRESS + HEART RELIEF

We have created a special stress + heart relieving tea to donate to causes that directly support black lives and communities that have been deeply affected by systemic racism. It is a blend of adaptogens like organic ashwagandha, eleuthero and tulsi, with nervous system supportive plants like chamomile, rose and more. These herbs have been renewed to decompress the nervous system, help with PTSD, stress and to help cope with elements of trauma. For those of you in need or with a beloved in need, please write to us directly and we will send this token of magic in the mail for you. Or if you wish to pay it forward and send it to a loved one in need, or for yourself, you can find it here.

Whether you have our rose powder, or dried rose petals, make this infusion

INGREDIENTS
Rose Powder
Water

DIRECTIONS
Add 1/2tsp in 8oz of almost boiling water (prevent very high heat as it increases bitterness and lowers medicinal properties). Allow the mixture to steep at least 8-10min (or longer). Once it has cooled off, refrigerate until chilled. Enjoy!
