This wild vine grows all over the world, many say it originates in South America, others say Malaysia. Hundreds of varieties exist, and although not all of them are used medicinally, they are mesmerizing flowers that add a beautiful touch to wherever it grows.
The vine produces blue, pink, purple and red flowers. It is traditionally used to alleviate neuralgia, nervous system disorders, and insomnia. This vine has had many esoteric connotations to it, as it's been used within witches brews for a wide variety of reasons, which we'll cover below. Many new age clairvoyants and seers, have channeled that this plant is a conductor. Meaning that it attuned the mind to higher frequencies, quite easily, by sharpening the antenna and preparing the nervous system to receive subtle information.
Passionflower is known to transfers Christ properties and vibration of Christ consciousness. This term is not associated to religious practice, it is often used to describe the type of download the plant or energy might be. In this case, Gurudas means the plant supports the repatterining of consciousness to attain wholeness again. It's known to repair the ego -- mending it to the superego -- supporting a feeling of enlightenment day to day mental constructs.
"The flower essence of Passionflower is much for effective to active these principles in people. The energies associated with clairvoyance, heightened spiritual states, greater awareness, channeling and even peak experiences of a religious nature take place much more easily with passion flower. " (1)
"The channel is opened, so that energies are not held within but are released. Any negativity, such as fear, resulting from these higher states is released into the Earth. There is a tendency for the individual to be better protected from negative or difficult vibrations that emanate from electronic devices." (2)
Many such devices, like cellphone's, computers, televisions produce what is called ELF frequencies (extremely low frequencies), which create biological stress on every cell in the body. This herb will assist in the release of these negative energies into the earth. (Another excellent way to restore the body is walking barefoot on the ground - read our post a few weeks ago here.)
The psychic abilities activated from consuming the plant are somewhat similar to the flower essence. Both remedies ease the potentially difficult transition the mind has to higher consciousness, allowing old energies to be released harmonically. As a result of this, it grants easier access and greater understanding on how to use these extra-sensory abilities.
"The plant was used in purely sacred or sacramental rituals in emir. It was allowed to grow wherever there were ritualistic places where worship, understanding of God and Earth, and working with energy of a more spiritual nature was taking place. The Lemurians, as they saw these energies in their rituals become permeated into the various plants, felt the loving and joyous energies from passion flower and from its vines and roots. This created a resonance, so passion flower was often used to close ceremonies." (3) These accounts have been recorded from Druid texts, to Ayahuasca type ceremonial practices!
"The resonance was experienced and an energy was created almost like a shield, ball of light, or intense area of energy that was then allowed to sink gently into the Earth. This sometimes gave people who used this herb a greater reverence for Earth as it related to God. This is the plant's karmic purpose today, to allow this more deeply and easily into people's lives." CROWN CHAKRA > The crown chakra is stimulated, with the energy likely to move in both directions, vibrating and creating resonance with the 6th and 8th chakras.
KIDNEYS + NECK > There is a strengthening of the nadis (energetic pathways) in the neck, wrist and arm areas. There is also a strengthening of the kidney meridian, especially where ir runs through the interstitial spaces in the chest.
SOUL BODY > The soul body is cleansed and there is more attunement between the etheric, emotional, and mental bodies. For many people, this causes deep reverence, and it is easier to release energy that may accumulate in the etheric body.
ASTROLOGY > Passionflower deeply associates with the asteroid Chiron, known as the wounded healer, associated to Christ consciousness. The primary connection here is that when Chiron is positively aspected by Jupiter or Uranus, drawing a parallel in the electric and positive nature of the aspects.
